KOREA : SAMSEONG AND GANGNAM, SEOUL

Our Day 1 started when we arrived at Incheon Airport, Seoul. The weather from our sunny island Singapore to Korea was drastically changed and we have to adapt to it.

Asiana Airlines
Our flight is by Asiana Airlines, it is a midnight flight. There is not so long delay, like only 10 minutes. Our flight is direct to Incheon International Airport. My first impression of this airlines are great, the chair is so comfy, we can actually sleep well and the leg space are also spacious. It's just the stewardess on my flight that time not really fluent in speaking English.

Bus Ticket to Coex Mall

We have booked our accommodations near COEX at Samseong-dong. We have took direct bus from the Airport to COEX. It is actually an express airport bus, you just need to go to their ticket counter/ticket machine to buy the bus tickets.
Price : It cost us 16000 won for adults.

For Children below 7 years old accompanied by an adult are free.

Comfy bus chair. The driver was told us to wear the seat belt whenever bus is moving.
There is no allocated seat for us, so we can free to sit anywhere. There is also compartment at the top. Our baggage was store in the bus lockers.

The bus are still going despite of the bus seats are mostly empty.

Our Food are tasty, but a little spicy. The good things to eat in Korea is they serve the food with the condiment. So there is a variety of side dishes beside the main food.

Gangnam

Gangnam during weekend was too crowded with a lot of youngster. I saw there is no kids playing around that area. It's a bit difficult for us to walk with the stroller because there way too many people walking on that Saturday Night.

Shopping at Gangnam

There is a lot of shopping houses along the streets. Underground shops also available near the train stations, mostly selling adult or teenager winter clothes.

I've spot one of the shop selling children's wear, mostly inside the shops are winter wear. I plan actually to buy more winter clothes for Michelle in Korea, because here in Singapore there is not many choices. Especially for pants. So I bought 2 pants for Michelle to just take turn to use and it is really worth it. The price each is around SGD $12. The material itself is soft and comfy. I will blog it in details in the my next post.

We did also buy a pair of gloves for her. The quality of the glove that we bought from daiso is not really good. The fur is actually stick to everywhere that we touched.

I also bought a pair of winter shoes for Michelle to wear. It is also worth to buy as mostly she use that shoes everyday during our winter trip.

Stroller

We are really glad that we bring our light stroller with us as sometimes Michelle will actually fall a sleep easily in the cold weather. But be prepare that in Seoul actually there is few stations that has lift. Mostly the nearest exit are using stairs. You need to walk a bit further to be able to reach their lift or sometimes no lift at all.

So for you who plan to bring bulky stroller, just be prepare if you want to take underground train. For buses, I am not too sure if we can bring our stroller unfolded. We always fold our stroller first when we want to ride their bus.

Because the weather was too cold, we decided to stop by at near by shop.

This is actually the closest shopping center near our accommodation.

The department store mostly selling the branded stuff, so I did not explore for more. We only interested on the food that they sell in the basement. All looks yummy for me 😆.

We did eat our lunch there at h'kitchen. Also bought some bread back.

I only regret that I did not buy the Japanese cake selling there, because it was long queue. This shopping center is also connects to the other mall which is Coex Mall.

And also this shopping center is closing early. Around 8.00 pm the door that connects to the Coex Mall was closed. Like those that we seen in the drama, yes all the workers are waiting for the last shopper to go out first by standing in front of their counter. Same as when they open in the morning.

Coex Mall is a very big shopping mall. It is near to Samseong train station.
