About Namsan Tower

Namsan Tower in Seoul city is the first tower type attractions in Korea. The tower was first established as a broadcast tower to transmit TV and radio signals in 1969. Now, it has become one of Seoul's most representative and multi-cultural landmarks. (Source click here)

The tower is located in the center of Seoul city which is easily accessible by cable car. There are many other alternatives to reach this place besides using a cable car, as seen below:

We boarded a taxi to get to the cable car departure point . From Myeongdong, it only takes about 10-15 minutes.

Ticket price:

Two-way direction :

Adults: 8500 Won

Children: 5500 Won

One way :

Adults: 6000 Won

Children: 3500 Won

Where we boarded the cable car, there is a sign board that will directs us to the boarding area which is on the 3rd floor.

How long

This cable car will take us up to the place below the Namsan tower. The journey takes about 10-15 minutes.. We can enjoy the beauty of Seoul when we board the cable car. Make sure you stand in the right position near the glass train that overlooks the departure place when you boarding the train. When the train goes up, you will be able to enjoy the view of Seoul.

Below is the place of our arrival when we ride the cable car. There are many artificial snowflakes. Apparently there are officers from this tower who deliberately sprinkled the snow before the tourists come. 

Lots of padlocks of love are paired under this tower. Indicates how many tourists visited here. There is also a small shop that sells a colorful love padlock for visitors who do not bring their own padlock but want to write their name / message in the love padlocks. In here not only couples who can hang and lock their love padlock here. There are some friends and family who also hang and lock their padlock along with their photos.

After locking the padlock, you can throw the unlock key down. They actually also provide the post box which can store the padlock key. Behind us there is also Love padlock trees.

The chair we sat on was also very interesting as if the chair was broken or split into two; But actually they are seats that are shaped like hearts. This chair will bring closer people who  sit there.

Each floor in N Seoul tower has some activities / restaurants that can be visited.

We are on the 5F floors, there are cute statues of Yoohoo and friends, characters from Korean children animated stories that was on display.

Some activities on this floor are required for admission fee.
