KOREA : LINE STORE, MYEONGDONG

Walking at the streets of Myeongdong are incomplete if we do not enter the Line Friends store located in the middle of Myeongdong street. The place is very easy to find because in front of their shop displayed a huge big bear called Brown.

To take pictures with Brown bear and Sally the duck is free. But we have to queue first in their special line in front of the store.

Behind the bear there are many knick knacks of line friends sold. There are several characters in this line friends. First floor mostly sell knick knacks, accessories and stationery. While the 2nd floor sells more home accessories and some clothes. In front of the main door there is a counter that sells light snacks like waffles with the shapes of line friends.

There are several things we can do in Myeongdong:

1. Shopping for cosmetics and skin care.
Korea is a paradise of cosmetics and skin care from face to body. The products they offer are diverse and many different brands. And indeed the product they offer is a product made from their own country. There are some brands that I really like to use one of them is Innisfree. Many Innisfree products I like to use start from sunblock, eyebrow pencil and mask.
Other cosmetic brands are also widely scattered throughout Korea, namely:
Etude House
Nature Republic
TheFaceShop
TheBodyShop
Innisfree
Skinfood
Tony Moly
Holika Holika
The SAEM
MISSHA
Clio
Laneige
It's Skin

There is also a drug store like Watson which also sells some cosmetic products, medicines, daily care named Olive Young. Some other products that do not own a store are also sold here like Son Park Beauty Water products.
There are some shopkeepers who can speak Indonesian, such as at Etude House and Innisfree. Because indeed a lot of tourists from Indonesia who visit here. Some of them also can speak in Chinese and English.

2. Eating Korean street food
Lots of sorts of street food served on Myeongdong street like sausage, Ddeokbokki, tornado potatoes, fish cakes skewers, bonchon, etc.

3. Shop for Korean Snack
To shop for Korean snack as well as at Lotte Mart supermarket, you can find a small shop in the middle of Myeongdong street.

4. Eat Authentic Korean food.
There are many Korean food sold in Myeongdong street. There are also many Korean barbecue restaurant here. But the price is a bit expensive than other areas.

5. Shopping souvenirs and socks.
There are some souvenir shops in Myeongdong area, but they are not only sell souvenirs, they also sell cute socks with reasonable price. About 1000 won.

6. Cut hair
There are many salons in Myeongdong area. One of them I visited was Juno hair salon. The price is quite expensive because it is located in the city center.
There are several branches in Myeongdong. I went to this 3rd floor salon. The place is next to "It's Skin" store. But the Juno Hair branch that I went to was not able to provide Global Tax Free.
Prices are set for full service such as haircuts with washing and blow around SGD $43, depending on the Stylist assigned. The one who served me was Director Stylist "Min A". She can communicate in English.

For foreigners should come to Juno Hair branch that there is Global Tax Free logo like shop below.
